All Done!

Well the concert was last night, and it was quite a bit of fun. It seemed like everyone enjoyed it. I know Chandler and his mom really wanted to be there because I talked to Chandler's dad after the show, and he said that he was texting Chandler and his mom throughout the whole show trying to tell them what was going on. I'm sure they'll enjoy the video of it though. Special thanks to David Nuttall and Robert Olmstead for all the photography and filming!

One Week!

Holy cow! Only one week until the show! Just so ya' know, if you haven't purchased your tickets yet you better do so quickly! It's only six days 'till show time! I don't know about you, but I am very excited! I've been rehearsing like crazy with the band to make sure we get everything ready. And of course, the last three days before the show EVERY member of the band will be gone or unavailable for rehearsal! AHH!!! Eh, oh well. We're doing a full dress rehearsal tomorrow with everyone. So that's our opening act, the band, singers, the whole sha-bang! Everything is sounding ahmazing!!!

So tonight I just checked out Chandler's little website to see how he's doing. Really, he's just not to happy to be there. Honestly, I wouldn't want to be there either. He really likes reading comments and words of encouragement on the site. I think it would be so cool if everyone left him a comment on his site. Even if you don't know him. He would LOVE it. Plus it gives him something to do. So just hop on to his site: www.caringbridge.org/visit/chandlergoetz and leave him a comment. I dare you! :D

Moving Along!

Hey Everyone,

So I thought I'd give a short update on what's going on with the show. So here we go!

On Wednsday of last week, 2/17/10 we got the show put up on the marquee and the Higley Center for the Performing Arts (HCPA) and got all the info up on their site (higleyarts.org). So if you're driving by, be sure to check it out! This Wednesday, I go in for a technical meeting with the the HCPA's technical manager, Bob Zucker. Let me tell ya, this guy is awesome! I've worked with him on countless occasions. He really is a great guy, and knows what he's doing. So when you're at the show, stop by the sound booth and tell him thanks for all he is doing!

Today I shot a video with Chandler that will be used for promoting the concert, and also that will be played at the show. Let me just tell you that Chandler is such an awesome kid! He rocks! He's an example to me for sure. I'm so grateful for the opportunity and great honor to know him. He's doing his best to do what's right, and he's doing a marvelous job at it! I hope you all help out in rooting for him! Go Chandler!

We've continually been rehearsing for the show. I've been getting the band together as often as possible. Last post I said I'd say a little bit about each member of the band so I'll do that now!

Zach Byers (Drums): I've been playing with Zach for a couple of years now. He is so awesome! He has played with me at a few of my shows before. He is a hoot! There's nothin' not to love about Zach! He's probably been playing music in general since he could walk. (Something tells me the music runs in his family). He'll be rockin' the percussion for us!

Jack Marple (Cello): So I have just recently met Jack, and can I say BRILLIANT! This kid is amazing! I'll sit down at the piano to play a song, and he just jumps right in with me. I tell him what I'm hearing for each song, and what I hear with his part and he creates perfectly just about every single time! And he doesn't just play the cello with a bow, he strums, drums, and basically rocks out with it!

Steele Aires (Violin): Steele I want to say really quick, hopefully I spelled your name right! I have also just recently met Steele, and he is also so brilliant. I would say that Steele is what you consider a classically trained violinist. He knows music like no tomorrow. He shreds that violin! In talking with him, the whole composing/improving music thing is somewhat new to him. As we've been rehearsing, I would say that I could not tell the difference between someone who has been composing/improving for years and himself. Steele is the man!

So that's all the band. I may have a guitarist to tell you about later, but we aren't sure if he is going to be able to play with us. Now there is also going to be a guest vocalist singing some awesome songs for the show with us. His name is Jake Packer! Let me tell ya a bit about Jake.

I've known Jake for quite sometime. We go back to the days of being crammed in the back of a 5 passenger jeep going up to scout camp at at age 13 or 14. Jake has been singing for most of his life, and he is good at it. In fact, after our last benefit show I was talking to some of the auidence members in the lobby after the show and they said that he sang life a 23 or 24 year old. Jake's smooth vocals will move anyone who listens! It is a real treat to have him performing with us again this year!

That's all I have to say for now, but I will be sure to say more later! Next time I'll tell you who our wonderful opening act is going to be. They're some great guys! Don't forget tickets go on sale tomorrow at 12am midnight! Get 'em while they're still available!

And We're Off!

Hey everyone! Sam Fleming here with the latest and the greatest on our show for Chandler Goetz and his family.

So this last Friday we put everything in place for the venue at the HCPA. So it is all set! We're really excited for this because we're going to be doing some awesome things with this show.

I want to personally thank Lance Packer from Bahama Bucks for being so willing to sponsor another great benefit show. It truly has been a blessing he has been able to help us out with this. I don't think I can explain enough how grateful I truly am. So thank you!

Right now we are busy at work rehearsing for the show. I'm especially excited for this show because I will get to be playing with a full band. This is probably the best band I'm playing with for a show. They are all so awesome! My next post I'll tell you a little bit about each band member. Also there will be a great opening act, and some great vocalists.

Also, tickets will be going on sell February 23rd at 12:00am midnight. So be sure to get your tickets fast!
